I'm relatively new to the game, but I was thinking about making a 55 monk, as I heard they are good, I know what they are, but do they actually work?

Any tips/ builds would be great.

Edit: what is a good second profession?

They do work, how good they are depends on what you intend to use it for.

i wouldnt if ur that new
unless farming is really sumptin u really enjoy, thats all the 55 is used for

not to mention its really mostly only worthwhile in hard mode
which u need to beat the game first

I don't recommend using a 55 for regular game play. There are too many things that can kill you fast. (Degen, Daze, Interrupt, KD, Life steal, etc...). Also, a lot of the old 55 Farm spots have been nerfed (like trolls). Farming itself was nerfd a while ago. I remember that i used to get about 2k from a 10 min vermin run, after the nerf i got 800g max. The 55 still works, but there are better alternatives nowadays (perma shadow form assassin). Just play the game normally and you will get enough money from drops and selling items to get by.

2. Do your GW HW and look around about what the 55 is capable/incapable of. There is a sticky that lets you know about different monk builds
